Developed to exceed reference quality in systems where cost is not an issue. We intended it to be a refined cable for the very best systems. It is obvious that every design of any manufacturer is burdened with compromise decisions. Usually it is the cost of components or their technological imperfection, sometimes also the difficulty of making. In the Extrema interconnects, we pushed all construction barriers aside and we conceived a cable in which we did not have to accept any compromise. What we intended to do and sounded better has been incorporated, regardless of consequences.
Extrema XLR E-885X
Due to the fact that interconnects participate in the transmission of the weakest signals, the design features wires with the best conductivity, made of ultra-pure monocrystal silver and copper. They are additionally hand-polished to obtain a nobler tone of higher frequencies. As always in our top designs, the hot and return conductors are physically separated from each other to minimize the mutual influence of magnetic fields. Moreover, the shielding was moved away from the conductors as far as possible. Thanks to these solutions, Extrema interconnects have extremely low capacity and no phase shifts.
Extrema RCA E-878R
The main dielectric of these cables is air, the best known insulator for practical use, although posing the highest challenges. To be able to use it in our cable, the conductors were placed in Teflon sheaths. However thanks to specific spiral HyperSpace architecture of the wires, only a few percent of them touch the sheaths, so losses resulting from contact with a hard insulator are completely negligible. At the same time, the stiffness of the housing and sheaths provides an excellent mechanical barrier, protecting against vibrations caused by the signal flowing through the conductor. Going further, cables are shielded in several ways, depending on their dedicated application. Then another cover is created by a multi-layer lagging, whose task is to finally dampen any vibrations to zero. Extrernally the cables are covered with carbon infused polymer for better high frequency shielding. Electrostatically dissipative carbon polymer reduces mechanically induced electrical noise and improves the uniformity of the voltage gradient within the insulating dielectric. Perfectly shielding RCA plugs with contact elements made of pure solid silver are a natural extension of silver monocrystal conductors. Balanced version feature legendary Oyaide Focus plugs. They complete the list of refined components thanks to which the signal in undisturbed transmission does not undergo degradation or coloration, remaining accurate and smooth.
Pure silver RCA connectors
The Extrema interconnect works extraordinary as a phono cable with RCA/RCA termination, as long as the design of the tonearm allows the use of such a massive cable.
As the final stage of production, we use a multi-day high-voltage conditioning process across the full frequency spectrum to achieve better clarity, musicality and resolution without the effect of fatigue, thus ensuring a shortening of the cable's "break-in" time in dedicated system, which usually takes a very long time.
Maximum listening pleasure with one of these exclusive products "FOREVER"!
